Keep Down.Town independent
Every guide is free to read. Reader support pays for the reporting, the new cities, the contributors we hire and the prizes in our contests — and keeps us from chasing clicks.
Amounts in your local currency. Down.Town is not a charity; contributions are not tax-deductible.

Where the money goes
General support is planned across the five things that keep Down.Town growing. Designated gifts go only where you choose.
We publish a short summary of how support was used each year on this page.
Prizes for five photo categories and a people's choice award. Sponsors and Prize Patrons fund it; every contribution designated to "Contests & prizes" goes here.
Reporting trips, local contributors and fact-checking for ten more city guides, chosen in part by Patron votes.
Fair fees for city editors, photographers and video creators — the people who make each guide feel local.

Questions people ask
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
No. Down.Town is an independent publisher, not a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible. They are voluntary support, not payment for goods or services.
How do I pay?
Where an instant payment button appears on this page, you can pay right away through that provider's secure checkout. Otherwise send the pledge form and we'll email you a secure payment link — we never ask for card details by email or in a form.
Can I cancel a monthly contribution?
Yes, at any time, through the payment provider's receipt or by contacting us. There is no minimum term.
Can my business support Down.Town?
Yes. Businesses usually prefer a labelled sponsorship — a City Partner slot, a contest category or the Friday Dispatch. See advertise and sponsor.
Do supporters influence coverage?
No. Supporters, sponsors and partners never buy editorial coverage, scores or rankings. Read our editorial policy.
